Pandemic self Evaluations

Life in Lockdown as a Student #2 - Friday, April 30, 2021

Crazy how it has been a year later, and we are right back where we had started. Or is it? This past year, with all its ups and downs, has ultimately helped me internalize what I want to pursue and what I need to do to get there. But let us take it back to day one.

About a year ago, me and my mates were outside of a lecture hall talking about how a new virus was spreading in eastern countries. How it was so far from us that we should not be concerned. Fast forward a week later, and we were in lockdown number one. This past year trying to remain in isolation has helped me get back to introspection basics. I started to question: who am I, what do I want to be, and how do I need to get to where I need to be? With slightly fewer distractions and more time for myself, I finally got to realize these answers.

Now here in lockdown number three, I am still disappointed in how some people in the public are treating this pandemic, but I see it as an opportunity to reassess my goals. With fewer distractions, I raise this challenge to you. Look at how far you have come since lockdown has started. Though things could have been different with the world open, are there any challenges you can still accomplish while the world is closed that when the world opens again, they see the new you that you had always strived to be?
